5-MONTH JOURNEY: JULY 24-NOV 22, 2020

The world is experiencing difficult times.  Yoga With Shawna believes in making lemonade (and lemon essential oil!) out of lemons.  In difficult times, it is important  to come together, to come to the yoga mat, to deeply work on the self to cultivate a steady place of peace and calm within, and to turn to the ancient practice of yoga to help us heal.  The yoga practice teaches us to be present and live in the here and now. This is medicine for us, always, but especially in uncertain times.

Yoga has been around for over 5,000 (documented) years. During these lifetimes of people, they, too, have experienced great plagues, crises, quarenteines, isolations, great health crisis, and  societal troubles. The yoga practice has worked to help as medicine for the people.

Yoga is only around today for two reasons: (1) its offerings (an 8 limb path that helps mankind find peace) continuously delivers results. It works and has again and again for life time after life time. (2) Teachers. If there were no yoga teachers, the yoga would not be able to survive.

Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, Shawna will be offering two options to take a special 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training completely online. She believes, now, more than ever, the world needs more yoga teachers. This special journey will be held completely online, certifying you in teaching yoga (in the styles of Hatha + Vinyasa) and meditation both as an online teacher and in person teacher. It is an official certification.

The course will work as an 8-week journey where we meet 8 weekends in a row  or  a 5-Month Journey where we meet one weekend month for 5-months You will get the tools needed to help you thrive in this fragile time we are in. From these tools, you will go inward and work on yourself. You will learn how to use the yoga for your self healing. Then, from here, you will be prepared to teach it and help others.

We need to do the work on ourselves to find peace and balance. We then need to come together and serve one another. This training is a self-therapy course that prepares you to do this.

It is human nature to push things off. Now is the time. There is actually no better time.

8-WEEK JOURNEY: This training will meet via Zoom on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00-1:30 PM from July 24-Sept. 13. There will be extra hours to be completed at your own pace including taking online yoga classes and watching videos along with live study hall classes on the week days scheduled at time that works for you. You will do deep inward studying learning 10 yogic principles that help cultivate inner and outer peace. These topics vary and discuss how to bring peace to money issues, relationships, self esteem, self discipline, etc. You will  connect deeply with the 7 chakras, understand food as medicine and the yogic diet, explore Ayurveda (ancient Indian Medicine), altar making, goal setting,  and many more transformative life skills that you will be able to pass on to others.

You will leave understanding the basics of the business of yoga  creating a yoga business plan and have an internship opportunity teaching online (or in person when the studio opens) at Yoga With Shawna or be involved with San Diego Yoga Festival. These opportunities will help you jumpstart your career or just give back to the San Diego community.

WHO SHOULD ENROLL: This training is designed to help people become yoga teachers, but is absolutely open to people who just want to go deeper in their practice, and do something healthy with their time. It is yoga school. Shawna, actually, took a yoga teacher training with little yoga experience and no intention to be a yoga teacher and it affected her so greatly that her whole life changed. This training is open to anyone who is open to learn.

Because this training is held in a special and unique time, Shawna is also offering the following opportunities:
  • Small class size: This training is open to only 10 people so the students get optimal attention.

  • Scholarship Opportunities: YWS will donate five $500 scholarships applicable to this training only to help students who are financially struggling due to the current state of the economy.

  • Extended Payment Plans: Aside from the offered flexible payment plan options, we are offering an  extended payment plan to help for this specific training if money is an issue.
