We will hike around the active volcano and inside Lava Tubes, get completely rejuvenated by taking a natural steam bath (standing over natural steam vets that are releasing steam from the volcano), give and receive Reiki to one another on this energetically charged place and enjoy a picnic dinner right on the crater. We will stay til after sunset so you can witness the indescribable GLOW of the volcano (I have seen the face of my spirit guides and other beings in it) at night. Shawna will share stories of plants and Hawaiian traditions, Gods and Goddess, and love stories including that of the fire god, Pele.
Currently, the lava is flowing throughout the island into the ocean. For an extra cost, you can organize a boat ride (on a separate day) to see the fire meet the water!
Hawaii's Big Island contains two of the most active volcanoes in the world, Kilauea towers over the Pacific Ocean. Volcanic eruptions have created a constantly changing landscape, and the lava flows reveal surprising geological formations. Rare birds and endemic species can be found here, as well as forests of giant ferns. This accessible volcano serves as an excellent example of island building through volcanic processes. Through the process of shield-building volcanism, the Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park's landscape is one of relatively constant, dynamic change.
