Basil is one of the holy herbs. There are two most common varieties of basil which are used widely: Sweet Basil and Holy Basil. Both are considered holy due to the presence of more oxygen in the leaves of the plant and various health benefits to humans. That is why Basil Plants are planted in the front garden of many homes in India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. The leaves of the plants are used to make tea, soup, and special herbal preparation during viral issues. The essential oil of Holy Basil is more difficult to distill than the sweet basil due to less oil content in the leaves. The oil of Holy basil is very medicinal, strong and after sniffing gives a feeling of “Holiness.”
This is a powerful oil to fight stress. It is amazing to use in meditation as it calms the mind and opens you to connect to all that you consider holy. It awakens the spirit within.
