YOGA RETREAT IN YOSEMITE
April 30-May 3, 2026

Come to one of the most beautiful places in the country, the Yosemite National Park area. This peaceful, relaxing, and  grounding yoga retreat combines nature, yoga and holistic health for a fun + restorative 4 days, 3 nights with Shawna + John. Each day has scheduled events + free time so you can get the most from your time on this relaxing escape in nature. 

 

DAY 1

4:30 PM: Check in + snacks

We will then do a relaxing and restorative yoga class designed for after-travel body and mind  care (at Shawna+ John’s yoga studio: Yosemite Yoga + Wellness), followed by intention setting and journaling, free time and then a delicious and healthy dinner together as we get to know one another followed by a nighttime aromatherapy + sound healing session. 

 

DAY 2:

We start our day with morning yoga + meditation followed by a yummy breakfast

Later, we will head to Bass Lake for a picnic by the lake. After this excursion, you will have free time where you can continue to hike in the area and enjoy nature, explore the town, come back to Shawna and John’s studio to take a private outdoor sauna session or sound massage session, soak at the cabin's hot tub, read a book or  just relax in your own way. Dinner will be served later in the evening, followed by a relaxing sound bath session or if weather permits, an earlier session of a floating sound bath in the pool. 

 

Day 3:

We start our day early with yoga + a healthy breakfast and then make our way to Yosemite National Park. Our first stop will be the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias which is home to over 500 giant Sequoia Trees. Then we make our second stop to the Yosemite Valley Floor where you will see beautiful waterfalls. We will eat a picnic lunch. Please note, this day includes hiking. You will then have the rest of the day to explore the National Park on your own or explore the cute surrounding mountain towns. Dinner will be back at the cabin and sound healing as a night cap! 

 

Day 4:

8 am yoga + sound healing following by a family style brunch. We will reflect on our trip, revisit our intentions, set new ones for the future and enjoy our time together before check out at 11 am.

Mariposa Grove of Sequoias 

An experience like none other, we will hike around the Grove which has over 500  Sequoia trees 1000 to 2500 years old towering as tall as 258 feet. We will then do a 30 minute yoga practice among these gentle and wise giants.

Yosemite Valley Floor

Surrounded by waterfalls + breathtaking views of nature, have a picinic lunch in front of one of the falls + leave time for meditating, journaling + exploring the park.

Bass Lake 

Even though the lake will be starting to  drain for the season, it is a beautiful place to immerse yourself in hiking + nature. We will each lunch on the sandy shores of the lake + explore the area.

Forest Bathing

Forest bathing originated in Japan in the 1980s, when doctors noticed that their patients were suffering from mental health issues and wondered if spending time in nature could help. It's now a vital part of preventative healthcare in Japan.  

Forest bathing, also known as shinrin-yoku in Japanese, is a practice that involves spending time in a forest to connect with nature through your senses. It's a therapeutic way to relax and de-stress, and it can have many health benefits,  including:

  • Improved mood and sleep quality

  • Reduced stress levels

  • Lowered blood pressure and heart rate

  • Lowered levels of harmful hormones

  • Increased well-being and happiness

Infared Sauna

 Research proves that using an infrared Sauna for at least 30 minutes once a week decreases chances of diseases by 55%. Get a private or two-person session in our Infrared Sauna outside facing the forest.  The benefits of infrared sauna are vast including but not limited to pain management, weight loss, skin health, allergies, heart health, mental health + more. On your free time, you can book up to three sauna sessions on during your retreat.

From yoga to sound healing to meditation and aromatherapy. You will have at least one holistic class a day. Check out the schedule below!

Meals

Meals are health and organic home cooked! We meet any dietary preference and allergy. Include meals include: dinner on Nov 6, 7, + 8; lunch on November 7 + 8 and  breakfast on Nov. 7, 8 + 9 .

Accomodation

We will be staying in a gorgeous log cabin with 6 bedrooms + 4 bathrooms. It has a total of 11 beds. The spacious cabin also has a large gameroom with lots of fun games (think fooz ball, arcade games and more), a hot tub + pool, hammock, outdoor shower, + a beautiful view of the forest and mountains.

Included in the retreat: Most meals, all yoga + meditation classes, your entrance to Yosemite National Park, up to 3 private or shared Sauna sessions,  2 private sound vibration sessions, private or shared accommodations for 4 days, 3 nights + a special gift to remind you of your time on this retreat. 
Not included in the retreat: Transportation. The closest Airport to Yosemite is Fresno, CA which is about 1 hour from where we will be staying (appx 7 hour drive from San, Diego.) You will need a car to get to the retreat and around the area to our different excursions.
