CURRICULUM
Instructors don't need to be influencers or salespeople. They also just can't rely on "good karma" or the "universe taking care of it." Students don't fall out of thin air, not even in the yoga mecca of the USA (San Diego). Great teaching fills classes- but relationships keep them full.
The wellness industry cannot follow the dated and insensitive, manipulative marketing sales pitches that make people feel like they NEED something. However, the industry is a business that is projected to make over $200 billon by 2030. It can be tricky to navigate "selling" wellness. Yoga is free and anyone's birthright: but practicing in a community space is not free. They are two different things. There are very real bills, expectations and needs when you do this full time with overhead and no other income or support coming in. In fact, poor decisions can lead to closing a space which hurts the community. The community doesn't think this way: they just think the space will always be there. This course is teaching how to ensure this is the case!
This course examines the full on the discomfort of it not "feeling right to be salesy" while building a mindset that helps everyone. This can be tricky because it is hard to do successfully. It starts small.
The course focuses on helping as many people of possible with the gift that is holistic health. It is no longer ok to have 2-5 people in class. The class teaches how to build class size + student retention. Small efforts go a long way.
Instructors must create emotional safety, build consistency and guide students on a journey. This course provides a deep dive in facing blockages and limited thinking that hurts you and as a result future students. Most reasons classes aren't full have to do with the energy, attitude and intention the community/space/instructors are holding consciously or subconsciously. We will tackle these and as a result you will see your class shift and also your life shift. As always, what is happening in the yoga class is very reflective to what is happening in our lives. It is very healing.
We are also stronger together. This class fosters community and coming together. The course teaches how to be a well-oiled team that supports each other. As a result, you get MORE: closer with like-minded people and feeling part of a whole and a greater purpose.
You learn from doing so all of these skills will be put into practice at the YWS community.

What if I don't want to take this course but I am currently internally at YWS?
YWS is about growth and alignment. Unfortunately, if you do not take this course you are not the right fit for the YWS internship program and you can no longer intern.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

INSTRUCTOR IMPACT
Learn how to make students come back for you. One instructor can fill a weak schedule slot.

GUIDING,
NOT SELLING
We are here to help people: not sell them on things. We will examine ways to lead as a heart centered busienss, for example: Recommend what will help them. Create experiences + invite them instead of "promoting."

SOCIAL MEDIA + OUT OF STUDIO MARKETING
Examines how to use free outlets to increase your classes.

TEAM MENTALITY + STUDIO ALIGNMENT
Re-shift your thinking so you are normalizing people taking care of themselves regularly, not just for your classes. Remember growing classes help everyone, full rooms equal better energy and opportunity and this is about community not competition.

ACCOUNTABLITY, GOALS + RESULTS
Normalize teaching at the level the students, listening and making people feel seen and understood.

LETTING GO OF LACK MENTALITY
Reshift your thoughts. Anything is possible. Don't think small. Stop creating problems or excuses. Get it?

RETENTION
Retention is more powerful than promotion. People return because they feel seen, safe and guided. Understand what it takes to have a high retention rate in your classes/events, etc.

HABITS THAT FILL CLASSES
From learning the names of your students to staying after class, we discuss habits that fill classes. Normalize teaching at the level the students, listening and making people feel seen and understood.

WORKSHOPS + RETREATS
Opportunities are like buses. There is always another one coming. Create opportunities to help people and create income.
