Lead a Wellness Retreat Retreat

Dec. 12-14

Shawna has been leading wellness retreats in Mexico, Alaska, Joshua Tree, Big Sur and Yosemite since 2013.  Now, owning her own rustic retreat center 15 minutes from Joshua Tree National Park, she  is putting together a special retreat: a retreat  for wellness  teachers who want to learn how to lead a retreat.  This special 2-night, 3-day retreat at  Desert Dimension in Twentynine Palms, CA will give you everything you need to know about leading a retreat and leave you ready to put on your own retreat. Participants will learn how to plan a wellness retreat anywhere but the retreat is focused on helping you plan a successful retreat at Desert Dimension since this is where  the retreat will be. We will practice leading it here! With this, Shawna will use her connections and experience  to  help you lead retreats in Fairbanks, Alaska (Northern Lights Viewing), Yosemite, and Tulum, Mexico. Of course, you will be able to lead retreats anywhere after this weekend course but this is an extra bonus giving you extra support from someone who has successfully led retreats in these locations.   Any wellness or holistic based retreat leaders are  welcome including but not limited to sound healers, yoga teachers, breathwork teachers, energy workers, etc. If you would like to co-lead a retreat with someone, come together or use the retreat to network to meet other people in the industry you could team up with! This retreat is fun and efficient as you will get real-life practice planning a retreat. This  goal of this retreat is to leave you confident and ready to lead retreats anywhere and also leave you with one retreat on the books: having a date and location secured  along with itinerary and marketing plan for your first retreat  at Desert Dimension by the end of the retreat.

What to expect on this retreat

Meals:

All meals are included but you have to cook one of them! Two weeks before the retreat you will be assigned a meal to cook with a group of attendees (or by yourself dependent on the number of retreat goers). You (or you and your group) will then come up with a meal for no more than $10 a head (goaled at about $5-$6 per person) that is healthy, easy to cook, and meets everyone's dietary needs. You are responsible  for paying for and cooking the meal along with cleaning it up!  This is your first assignment! You must bring your recipe +  all groceries needed  to the retreat. The retreat-goers will eat your food + give you feedback on your choices as you will on theres. You will also learn the realities of cooking for a group and thinking on your toes (one of many hats the retreat leader wears!). Get creative!
