Batteries dead.

Batteries..!

 I believe that something higher than ourselves has our back and is constantly trying to talk to us to lead us in the right direction. Since this “thing” doesn’t speak English, I believe it talks through signs. I know a lot of people have this same belief. The question is: are you paying attention? Are you listening? Are you getting the message!? Do you see the signs? 

I believe these signs are happening all day long every day, but they are just so small or subtle that unless you are super mindful and present (AKA how we are supposed to be living life), they are easy to miss. 

Maybe I am right or maybe I think too much, but let me tell you about my story with batteries. 

This year has been so busy with traveling all over for work and I think I’ve only had three days off since 2026 started. Wild (and my own doing) and yes, I am changing this. But I am having a great time and getting a lot accomplished. 

Anyway, for the past two weeks ALL the batteries in my house AND studio have been blinking low. Funny because I only have two things that take batteries in my home (TV remotes) and one thing that takes batteries in my studio (thermostat) and I rent both places so I wasn’t the one to put the batteries in in the first place..yet they are all running out at the same time.  I have been ignoring them and I have been pushing them. I realized they both still work even though they are pretty drained. The screen on the thermostat is barely readable but if I use my flashlight on my phone, I can read it..so I do that! And if I press the buttons and hold them down on the remote, it still works for the tv….why do I do this? Just change the batteries. I do this for myself sometimes too. I keep pushing and pushing and pushing. I know a lot of you do this too. 

So  guess what? Today, the thermostat died so I couldn’t adjust the temperature and my poor studio was left in the cold! 64 degrees!

I got the message (on behalf of us all being cold!)

I realized: Ok, ok, universe I hear you. I need to recharge my own batteries and stop pushing myself and do the same with my things. Isn’t it funny how your house reflects your inside?

I am giving myself off four days this week AND I changed the batteries in my remote. Look at my listening and pay attention!
